Sam Yeo

Ski Instructor/Chinese Speaker
NZSIA L2 Ski (NZSIA L3 Teach), Children’s L1, Free-ride L1.

Hi there, I’m Sam! Originally from Malaysia, I’ve called the UK home since I was just a year old. My journey into skiing began at 24, and I know firsthand the challenges and fears that come with learning skiing later in life. Whether you’re navigating your first chairlift or tackling off-piste powder, I’m here to guide you with a patient and personalised approach, ensuring you progress at a pace that feels right for you.

I’ve had the privilege of teaching across the globe, from the slopes of New Zealand (The Remarkables & Coronet Peak) to the breathtaking resorts of Switzerland (Saas Fee, Nendaz,Verbier) and Japan (Niseko), spanning seven incredible seasons. During the pandemic, I workedwith CARV (a ski tech wearable) where my role involved managing on-snow testing and skicoaching, which deepened my understanding of effective learning techniques; crucial for ourcommunity of over 35,000 users.

With a background in Mechanical Engineering and a previous career in Project Management ata Civil Engineering consultancy, I’m skilled at breaking down complex concepts into easy-to- understand insights. I feel incredibly fortunate to meet people from around the world andshare the joy of skiing amidst the stunning beauty of the mountains.

Eden Kate Brown

Ski/Snowboard Instructor
NZSIA L2 Ski. L1 Snowboard. Kids cert. Free ride cert.

Hi I’m Eden. Your family’s friendly new ski and snowboard instructor.

I’m 29, originally from the UK but I moved to NZ to be a ski instructor in 2019 and have been doing it ever since. I work at both at Coronet Peak & The Remarkables, Queenstown, and in Niseko, Japan during the northern winter (10 seasons!).

I absolutely LOVE my job and feel truly blessed to work with such talented happy children and adults in a fantastic environment. Having learned to ski at age 5 and deciding right then that this is what I wanted to do when I grew up, it is literally a dream come true to work in this industry.

With a background in psychology and teaching, I have a great passion for learning. I really enjoy combining this with my love for snowsports and the mountains. Helping my clients to overcome fears, deepening understanding of techniques and finding more ways to have fun is what it’s all about.

Whether you’re new to snowsports, perhaps you haven’t ever experienced snow, or an avid skier/snowboarder. I look forward to getting to know you and being a part of your truly memorable snowsports experience.

Tama Mitchell

Ski/Snowboard Instructor

NZSIA L2 Ski, L1 Snowboard, Children’s L1, Free-ride L1.
Hello, I’m Tama, a passionate Ski and Snowboard instructor from New Zealand. With over seven consecutive seasons of teaching in both New Zealand and Japan, my love for skiing was immediate. I still vividly remember the thrill and sense of freedom after completing my first run, a feeling that sparked my journey to become an instructor. My goal is to help others experience that same exhilaration and joy, guiding them to overcome their fears and discover their full potential in this incredible sport.
I’m continuously developing my own skiing and teaching skills, which helps me deeply understand the emotions my guests experience; from fear and anticipation to the elation that comes with each breakthrough. I approach each lesson with an analytical and strategic mindset, always aiming to create an environment where learning is both effective and enjoyable.
Beyond the slopes, I lead an active lifestyle. I’m an avid dancer, especially in West Coast Swing, and have entered in a number of competitions around the world. I also enjoy jet skiing, wakeboarding, canyoning, and other adventure sports. This lifestyle, in combination with my interests, has allowed me to connect and relate to many people from different backgrounds.
Whether you’re a first-timer or a seasoned enthusiast seeking a unique mountain experience, I would be honored to be part of your journey.
